"Jim Barry Is Nothing Without Me"
Chad Mongin had little to say regarding the Cup this year and instead chose to spend his time talking about how he coddled Barry into the semi respectable golfer he claims to be. Mongin admitted he didn't bring his A game in 2014 during his matchup with Barry but said for him it was so much more than that. "I was really proud to see Gym playing the best golf of his life. I sort of feel like Mr. Miyagi in a sense when it comes to Gym. Flash back to the 2012 Cup for a minute, Here I am with this little turd that has zero chance of beating Gyver in an individual match. Cup was on the line and I thought we were doomed but I dug deep and was able to coach and groom this thing in a matter of 18 holes. Aside from being a father, watching Gym blossom into a less than mediocre half assed golfer has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life."
Mongin laughed at the notion of a rivalry between him and Barry, "I don't see a rivalry here at all. Was Jordan and Marty Conlon a rivalry? Was Ali and Reggie Strickland a rivalry? Is Rory and Mark Anguiano a rivalry? Gym and I have had many talks about this topic and to be honest, the kid is just happy to be able to slightly compete. Let's not make something out of nothing here."
Mongin who has been criticized for his uniform selections came out with a strong statement in response to the so-called fashion moguls. "It's a fairway not a runway, this is golf not fashion. Next question."
Mongin said he has no big board and that his eyes remained focused on Neil Fisher and Fisher alone, "Nobody else matters."
